Who we are
Skuadra (“Skuadra”, “we”, “us”) provides bilingual field-service operations software for cleaning, lawn care, pest control, pool service and similar trades. We are based in the United States and this policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware.
You can reach us about privacy at [email protected].
Two roles: account data vs. your business's data
For the account and profile data of the people who sign up for Skuadra, we are the “business” / data controller and this policy applies directly.
For the information a Skuadra customer enters about its own clients, properties and workers, that customer is the controller and Skuadra acts as a service provider / processor that handles the data only to provide the service under the customer's instructions. If you are a client or worker of a business that uses Skuadra, please contact that business about its own privacy practices.
Information we collect
- Account and profile: name, email, role, organization, language preference, and authentication credentials (managed by our auth provider; we do not store raw passwords).
- Operations data you enter: clients, property addresses, jobs, estimates, invoices, expenses, notes and photos.
- Worker location (consent-based): check-in and check-out coordinates, points sampled during a worker-started shift session or an active job, and geofence flags. This is described in detail in our GPS section below.
- Payment data: processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive billing status and limited details (such as the last four digits and plan), never full card numbers.
- Voice input: if you use the in-app assistant's microphone, the audio is sent to a transcription provider (OpenAI) to convert it to text.
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, interactions, session replays, approximate location derived from IP, and device/browser information, collected through our analytics provider (Microsoft Clarity).
- Communications: emails we send you and messages you send to support.
How we use information
- Provide, operate and secure the service and your account.
- Process subscriptions, billing and trials.
- Generate proof of service (check-ins, before/after photos) and other core features.
- Provide support and respond to your requests.
- Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- Improve and develop our features.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Legal bases (for EU/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, to comply with legal obligations, and based on your consent (for example, cookies/analytics, worker location, and voice transcription).
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We use trusted service providers that process data on our behalf to run Skuadra:
- Stripe — payments and billing.
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Railway — application hosting.
- Resend — email delivery.
- Microsoft Clarity — product analytics and session replay.
- OpenAI — voice-to-text transcription for the in-app assistant.
- OpenStreetMap — map tiles for location features.
We may also disclose information to comply with the law or a valid legal request, to protect the rights and safety of people and our service, and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (with notice where required).
Worker GPS and monitoring
Location features are scoped and consent-based. We collect a location point at job check-in and check-out, optionally validated against a property geofence, and points during a shift session that the worker explicitly starts and can end at any time (with a visible “location sharing on” banner). There is no 24/7 or background tracking.
A worker must consent before any location is recorded, and consent is revocable at any time. Businesses that enable GPS features are responsible for obtaining their workers' consent and for complying with the employee-monitoring and location-privacy laws in their jurisdiction (for example, California Penal Code §637.7 and written-notice rules in states such as New York, Connecticut and Delaware).
Data retention
We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Location data follows the retention period configured by the business in its GPS settings. We also retain information as required to meet legal, accounting or reporting obligations, and then delete or anonymize it.
Security
We run on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest provided by the platform, role-based access controls, and token-based authentication over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it), and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights (CCPA/CPRA).
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will verify and respond within the timeframes required by law. If your data was entered by a business that uses Skuadra, we will refer your request to that business.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and process information there. If you access Skuadra from outside the US, you understand your information will be processed in the US, and we rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.
Children
Skuadra is a business tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
